I have one and it's a life saver for my 1880's Husky with short chambers. |

Short kit doesnt seem to be gauge specific--I can rotate it between my 12, 16, and 20 600jr.

I also do the same. |

Correct with those gauges but 410 and 12gauge 3 1/2 use studs that screw into the adapter plate to get the correct height. No big deal but I use the 410 often changing from 3inch to 2 1/2 shells and use the 1/4 inch studs to raise the 1/4 inch adapter. The 3 1/2 studs are 1/2 inch i have never used them. |

And I thought I was being slick making an adapter out of two layers of 1/8” luan for loading 2.5” .410,,,,,,
I like the washers idea for 16ga, I think my Stevens 520 might be shortchambered. |

I have made several with 1/4 " aluminum plates very easy fabrication project
Trace the base, mark holes, cut it with a jig saw drill and tap holes its 1/4 20 threads
sand the edges with a belt or disc sander and install 30 minute project if you can find your tools!
I always wondered why nobody drills and taps the center post to get the adjustment height. That's what mec does to adjust between 3" and 2 3/4 inch ammunition for 12 20 and 410

What robp said. Much of the stuff is very simple to make with hand tools. |
