As the current Winchester Super X Game Loads? They're the same length, just a bit shorter than most other 2 3/4" 16's (including the old purple Herters). Base wad looks to be the same. Brass head is the same length. Herters is marked 16 with 4 stars (like the old purple Herters) while the Winchester is stamped Winchester 16ga. That's the only difference I see.
Assuming they're the same, that could lead to some interesting reloading possibilities. |

Indeed, both the current Herters and Winchester boxes are marked "Made in France" and carry the CIP proofmark.
For some reason (probably because of Cheddite hulls) I've connected the previous (purple/low brass) Herters to France. But those boxes are marked "Made in Italy". And, as we have determined, the hulls are just a bit longer than the current Herters and Winchesters. |

Maybe someone here knows , maybe not : supposedly the Chedd factory is right on the border with Italy . For sure the 4 stars are Chedd , but maybe the Winnies are but not stamped the same due to Licensing ? Are the Fios really made somewhere else in Italy , or not . Haven't really found a diff between any of the Euro 12's . The Euros have been showing up here by the tons and have been very valuable for my 12ga stuff after being shortened to 25/8 .... anyone really know ? |

Fiocchi, Cheddite (used by many brands), Rio, Martignoni (NobelSport and maybe others), and B&P are all separate manufacturers, and manufacture hulls different from each other, though, for reloading purposes they don't differ much.
Cheers!
