Cold Iron was kind enough to let me throw this load in the box he sent to Precision for testing.
In a 16 ga RGL, I wanted to know what changing out the W209 for a Ched 209 would do to the 7/8, CB0078, Green dot load I had done for years. Sent in this:
16ga RGL
15.0 of GrDot(black cap)
CB 0078
7/8oz Eagle 8s
Ched 209
Came back as
1203 fps avg
9262 pressure avg
20 SD on velocity
634 SD on pressure
58 EV on velocity
1720 EV on pressure
Shot a box of these this week at 5 stand and they worked well. YRMV
For those that followed the thread on Trapshooters where someone swapped a ched 209 in a load that called for a w209 in a 20 ga load with 2028, I sent in this load to precision also.

1178 avg fps
9782 avg pressure
5 avg SD velocity
421 SD pressure
15 EV velocity

Now I'm comfortable using ched 209s in both these loads |
