<  16ga. General Discussion  ~  Spring training 2023 - Woodcock Pics

This year's spring woodcock season wasn't as fruitful as past years with regard to getting pictures, but this is what I have.

Both the Dog and the Birds appear to be haveing fun !! My question is : does the Dog get bitchy/twitchy because you don't have a gun with you and shoot the birds . Have seen doge get mad about that and especially of you MISSED the bird !

If you asked my dogs, they'd probably tell you they don't want me to shoot birds. They much prefer looking for live ones than dead ones.

GREAT pics. Love those dog shots, Dogs are beautiful !

On a phes hunt, ONCE, back in the lower Hudson Valley NY in the "80s, a 'cock broke out ifo me. Friggin thing scared the **** out of me. I must have just about stepped on it. Was carrying a 12 at the time and took a shot at it and got it (Boy, did it stink).My one and only experience with them.....
