Loaded a 100 Rio clear hull primed last week for game night. Did 25 of them. 1oz with 14.2 gr of 700x. Recoil was mild and won 38.50 but my shooting cost me 49.50. Paid dollar for the nights shooting. However the load was working fine so thought I would load some more. I thought sure I had another 100 new primed I seen somewhere in my stash. Couldn't find them. So I started a witch hunt. Low and behold I had a total of 500 new primed. Just forgot about buying them. I had the RIO primers anyway. Always liked that Rio hull. Could always get 6 to 8 loads without the crimp going bad. Always the hull get weak near the brass. No powder creep with the flared clayb.
I don't think Rio are making them at this time.
I think somebody up their likes me. Bill |

When i jumped back in about 2 yrs ago, Rios were about the only available shell I could find and I cautiously bought a flat of the #6s at 1,300. Shoots well, and like you say excellent hull to reload. Haven't had a throwaway yet. Only "problem" i've found is they are large some loads didn't have the proper stack height; needed a pip or 2.
Did you chrono that 700x load ? |
