Ive chronoed this load twice now. Once when it was @45degrees and yesterday when 85. Off Hodgdons site.
Win cf hull
1 oz lead
CB100 wad
w209
20.1 Universal
Even though their site says this should be 1220fps,It chronoed 1330,1369,1368 when 45 degrees and 1389,1380,1370 when 85. Anyone else had these results? In a Rem hull,it supposedly takes @ 1/2 gr less to get to the same speed with all the same load otherwise. |

I had the same issue with this load. I backed off to 18 grains to get the advertised 1220fps Load is still clean. |

I also had the same problem, I called hodgdon about it and they told me that no way, with my chrony, I could get any type of accurate data, but when I measured a factory load I got what it said on the box. I lowered the charge to 17.4 to get 1150 fps for trap shooting. |

Thanks for the replies. I'll try 18.0 since I want it for a pheasant load. |

Chronoed 3 of the 18.0 yesterday and got 1212,1237,1228. That will work for a hunting load in my Iside. |

Universal & 20/28 are so much alike that I've acquired almost the same numbers as you. I dropped back a grain with 20/28 and crono out with a average of 1248 fps. Which I'm happy with that. Being I mainly shoot the games in trap 2 to 3 times a week. That is my line load and my shootoff load. As for universal I haven't messed with that much over the last few years since I discovered 20/28. Saying that , universal would be my backup powder if the time need be. |

Yeah that will work.
Does your Iside look something like this?
Bet you have had Slim cut the stock and have a SC100 recoil pad on it by now.
Since you went to see Kerry and take lessons rumor on the street is that you are a beast in Sporting Clays. I'm willing to bet that carries over to feathers too

Thanks to you (and Dave), it looks incredibly like that one. A beast?? Hardly. Still no delusions of beating you. |
