Now for something different. We talk about patterns plenty, but nobody actually sees them in flight. Well folks, I picked up a few more images of shot doing it's thing last week while hunting sage grouse with friends, so...here you go!
You'll have to look real close (zoom in) on the first one. In the second (and third, the cropped version), you see the shot leaving the wad. In the fourth, the pattern is opening nicely and about to take a bird. In the fifth photo you can see how tight the pattern is up close when fired from a modified choke.
No animals were harmed in the making of this post. Well, okay, a few sage grouse...but that's all.

Excellent photos! What size shot? Thinking #5 but can’t really tell. |

Again, great photos, lots of talent. It would be fun to see the shot string, or lack it on right to left, or left to right shots. |

WyoChukar,
Nice photos, can see the pattern leave the gun, the end photo of the 1st set of picture I can make out the shot pattern as it gets to the bird. I think my Mac is filtering the other pictures, I see no shot pattern in them at all.
all the best,
Pine Creek/Dave
