Going through some stuff I inherited was a case of WW shotshells. They are the white box with the red and orange stripe across the top (the style before the silver box). I have Super-X shells of the same era and they have a drawing of the CF hull on the box, however these do not. They are listed as "Dove&Quail" "Squirrel&Rabbit" & "Pheasant". In appearance they look like CF hulls, but I note in WW brochures of the era they list 12 ga Pheasant loads as being a two piece with plastic base. So I have two questions.
1. Would these animal shells be CF hulls?
2. If not, what loading data would there be for reloading them? |

It’s been my experience that the 16 ga version of those shells were, for the most part, loaded in CF hulls. I always keep an eye out for them at gun shows. I have occasionally seen them loaded in the poly formed hull with a slightly ribbed outside and heat sealed crimp. The C/F ones typically have 8-point crimps with the smooth slick plastic like a AA hull. |
