Just last night I saw on Campfire that someone posted DR16 was back in stock at Recobs and Precision. As much as I wanted to order 4 cases to feed my hoarding ways I know others want in on some. I didn’t want to do my family that way. |

I’ve resolved myself to what I have for now. If there’s another run I’ll buy, if not then I’ll work with what I can get.
But I think there’s quite a few left from this latest run. |

With the listed price for the wads I believe i can get by fine with what I use for 7/8oz loads. In the RP game load hulls that I have on hand( a couple buckets worth) the claybuster 7/8oz wads work great. In my 2 5/8" cheddite hulls I use the SG16 wad with an over shot card on top and they work great. |

Just how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie pop ?
The world may never know !

When one CANNOT GET pigments.
One simply does without.
When one cannot get resin.
One will have to do as I do , shoot AIR RIFLES. |

People whine about items not available.
When they are available they whine about the cost.
Was the comment about the color a complaint? That I didn't understand
Lots of whining here |

I could care less about color, performance is what I am after. The only thing color has given me is whether the wads on the ground are mine or not.
I do notice a slight difference in sturdiness between the previous batch and the new batch of green ones. This translates to less over-compressed or mangled wads so better crimping. About 5 out of 500, or 1%.
With the DR 16, I have been happily shooting 5/8 oz loads for summer skeet, saving me on lead costs and recoil while dialing in my shooting. Aim small, miss small.
If the clear ones are stiffer, so much the better. I will likely save the older ones for some 7/8 oz woodcock loads in the RGL for the Flues.
If they cease to exist, I have plenty of WAA16 & SP16 for RGL loads, & SG16 with cork for practice loads in the Cheddites.
16ers will do what they always have…get by with what’s available and tweak until they come up with something better than the status quo. |

No complaint just wanted people to be prepared if they get them. My immediate concern was they sent me the wrong ones. |

I'm a little confused regarding comments about the price of DR16 wads. Today at Precision DR16s are available for $.046 esch; Claybusters are @ $.038 each.; rounding off, 5 & 4 cents each. Not including the cost of the hull, to reload costs: powder $.15; shot $.11; Primer $.07. The cost of a hull reloaded with a DR16 is $.38; Claybuster $.37; Shooting a round (100) Sporting Clays would use $38 versus $37 in ammunition- add to that the range costs- is $1 really that big a deal? |

The 16 ga 7/8 oz is such an advantageous, even delightful load that were I not loading 2 1/2” hulls as I do now, I would secure as many DR16 as possible, color, stiffness, and cost notwithstanding. Having an assured supply of essential components makes things so much easier. Is it hoarding? Not if I’m steadily using them. Given its history, a five or seven year inventory doesn’t strike me as unreasonable.
BTW, BPI is offering flat rate shipping $6.99 [July2024] Expires July 26, 2024. No mention of DR16 however.
