Does anybody know anything about these takedown pump guns. Somewhere in the back of my safe is a 12 ga. takedown pump with a barrel that was cut down to 20 inches and has had a poly-choke installed. If I can (economically) find and fit a 26 or 28" barrel, I'd like to do so.
Ebay has a few listings for Model 10 barrels (not Model 10"A") and I don't know what the "A" designation is or whether there was any interchability at all back when this gun was made.
I'd welcome any information that the 16 Ga. Society has to offer. |

Very similar to the model 29, the Remington model 10 was made from 1907-1929. The 29 was made from 1929-1933.
I'm pretty sure the grades were A-F, with A being the cheapest, and F not cheap. Hope the original barrel isn't stamped "Long Range"-that is a scarce collectors gun.
I remember someone advising that there is a delicate part in one or the other (10 or 29) but can't remember the details. Like most guns of that era, if it is working now, it likely will keep on working.
Good luck with it.
Best,
Ted |

I agree with Ted, the A designation is the level of ornamentation. Any Model 10 barrel should work. |
