Hi Guys just a quick report from NI , I had the old Jeffery out giving it a clean and it put me in the notion of giving it an outing so last weekend I took it with me along with my son who took his WW Greener Empire Model and my long time hunting partner with his Beretta 626 EELL. Our other usual side kick who just likes working his dog for us was layed up with a chest infection, hope he's better soon, we went over to the area where we release a few Pheasants first and did a bit of work around there , my partner with the Beretta managed to bag 3 Pheasants and I got one for the 16ga society with the Jeffery, we have a good wee snipe bog and my 2 partners bagged a snipe each , we worked our way back to the cars and on the way back my mate with the Beretta had a great shot on a Woodcock that almost took his head off as it flushed from the pine trees, we got back to the cars and my friend said to my son there's a wee flooded bit up there a bit go and try it for a Duck , so off he went and we got the flasks out for a cup of tea when we heard one shot , so I gave him a ring to see if he needed a dog over for a retrieve, when I ask he said I shot two Ducks , I said I just heard one shot he said yes but I got two, and need a dog for the retrieve, we left the tea and went to help him with Rusty the Labrador and true to form Rusty found them both , two beautiful Teal Drakes , so back we went for a cup of tea and a chat about the day , we ended up with 4 Pheasants 2 Snipe 1 Woodcock and 2 Teal Ducks , a really nice mixed bag , and another kill for Jeffery although it should have been 2 but I won't mention the big rooster I missed, probably been shooting the o/u too much lately but I have been doing good with it last couple of seasons. But always good to get a bit of variety in your shooting,
Hope you all enjoyed hearing of our day and would like to hear how your season is getting on.
All the best WJ. |

| Sounds like a good time! I find I have come to prefer a SxS in the field these days, there's just something about them that appeals to me. |

Great day in the field, congrats on the nice Pheasant you got with your SXS double gun! What a great day! Really enjoyed the story.
all the best,
