Gentlemen,
At the present time I am trying to make a deal on a #5 L.C. Smith 16 gauge Grouse gun. The gun is very expensive, we will see what happens. Looks like I will be using some of the that Grouse camp sales money to purchase it, if the deal goes thru.
all the best,
Pine Creek/Dave
l.C. Smith Man
L.C. Smith #5 guns are some of the very best Grouse guns ever made, the one pictured is a 20 gauge, the 16 I am looking to acquire has even nicer custom engraving on it, also by Kraus. #5 guns were 98% hand made, and only 36, 16 gauge #5 guns were known to be made.
.
My 12 gauge #5 Gun owned by Kraus, L.C. Smith top Master Engraver, with the likeness of his own English Setter dogs engraved on the #5 Gun. Only 457 12 gauge #5 guns were made.

Beautiful engraving
Hoe long are the barrels?
What does the 16ga weigh? |

Charlie16,
No update at this time, this is going to take some time to happen.
The gentlemen is thinking about whether he wants to let go of the gun or not, a very hard decision to make on a one of a kind L.C. Smith 16 gauge #5 gun.
all the best,
Pine Creek/Dave

Gentlemen,
The deal on the 16 Gauge #5 L.C. Smith fell thru, so I purchased an Eagle Grade 20 gauge instead.
all the best,

Gentlemen,
The deal on the Eagle Grade L.C. Smith has also fallen thru, I do not trust the seller,
he was selling the gun for a 2nd party. I tried to get in contact with him 3 different times over the weekend, no luck. Left a phone message that I was canceling the purchase on Monday morning, still no call back. I no longer trust the seller, will not send him the large amount of money needed to purchase the Eagle Grade gun.
What the heck is going on with my gun purchases lately.
all the Best,
Pine Creek/Dave

| Some of the best deals are the ones you don't make. |

Gentlemen,
The entire thing worked out for the best, I went back to my old buddy Kirby Hoyt at Vintage Doubles and purchased a much better gun. A 1904 Westley Richards Side Lock SXS double gun. God was watching over me big time.
I have no problem sending Kirby Hoyt big money. I definitely know the gun I purchased will arrive at my FFL dealer, in perfect condition.
all the best,
Pine Creek/Dave

Yeah, Kirby is a much safer bet.
I've bought several guns from him over the years and he's a peach to deal with.
Good shooting with that Westly! |
