I recently aquired a unique L.C. Smith. the gun is a field grade with a straight stock, Hawkins pad, ejectors, and double bead sights. The overall condition is probably close to 98% whoever ordered this gun surely did not use it. The gun was made in 1940. It is quite rare to find a field grade gun with a straight stock, straight stocks were usually used on the higher grade guns making this gun quite rare. Looking forward to bird season.

Jerry,

Great find! Is it a Featherweight?

A few years back I picked up a straight-stocked 12 gauge with 26" barrels, choked IM/F. Straight stocked Smith Field Grades are indeed unusual. Mine was made in 1914 and has the long trigger guard tang that is typical on original straight grip guns.

The best day of Trap shooting I ever had was with this gun ... including a run of 37 staright.
