In my experience it doesn't matter. I shoot double trigger guns almost exclusively and the trigger change is subconcious and automatic and I don't notice any difference between straight and pistolgrip stocks.

.....that's encouraging....I aspire to that level of unconciousness: brainless automatic trigger switching regardless of grip configuration.... |

Sounds like an interesting gun, I have a similar one made in 1903, no ejectors but with the long barrels. The gun is under 6lb and has had a hard life, but it’s a trim little gun made, I think on Sauers 20ga action. I am still trying to decide what to do with it. The photo below shows what can be done with a straight grip stock and a B/T forend, it doesn’t have to look like a club.

Here's another example of the BTFE and Straight Stock combo:
http://www.collectorsfirearms.com/admin/product_details.php?itemID=11828
I emailed them for details, and got this reply:
"This gun weighs 6.5 lbs. and the LOP is 14 3/8". The DAC is 1 3/8" and the
DAH is 2". There is no cast.
This item does not come with a case and the shipping would be $30.00. Please
call Ray at 1-877-214-9327 for more details."
It looks like a nice gun, Maybe someone else round here is interested?? |

I shoot 2 triggers on all my SxS's but I can not shoot straight stocks. They just do not feel right when throwing them up to my shoulder.
That's why I ordered my new Merkel from Germany with pistol grip and double triggers.
Switching or choosing front or back trigger comes without issue for me. Many times a bird will flush out further than I woud like and I just use the rear trigger for more choke instead of the front one. |
