I personally called Browning on this shotgun. I was told that ordering would end 2/28. Maybe dealers ordered several hoping the shotguns would sell. |

chopper,
I posted this on Shotgunworld.
I have traded emails with Browning. Here's the latest...
The BPS 16 gauge is a SHOT Show special these guns are only available to order til the end of February. Only thru Browning dealers direct or they will have to get them from a wholesaler.
Here are the code numbers.
They will not ship until August-October
012216514 BPS Upland 26”
012216515 BPS Upland 24”
012211513 BPS Hunter 28"
I hope that this information helps you.
You can go to our website to find out the direct dealers in your area.
Jackie
I also called and spoke to Linda in CS. Her direct number is
1-800-333-3288 x697
she said she could help any dealers who might question the aquisition of one of the shotguns.
I then called my dealer and it seems I'm on go with him. I did have to explain how to go about getting one as I have been told, "It's not in the catalog." |

I'm in the same boat, and would like one. Somehow I missed that there was a deadline on orders... |

Guys,
I'd call Linda and see what she can work out for you. She was a pleasure to talk with....
Also, try the big chain stores. Gander and some others. They may have ordered a large quantity and might have extras. |

Thank you sir, for that email. I, for one, want you to know I appreciate the leg-work you put into this.
I printed it out along with the Upland Special webpage and took them to my dealer on the 23rd, where he assured me that if the SKU# came up on his computer, he could order it and be assured of delivery. Not bad for my second try.
Earlier in the day, I took the paperwork to a gun shop much closer to home. His wife copied them and said the owner would get back to me, either later that day or the next even knowing it was a Saturday. (She assured me his jobber was open Saturday mornings.) He finally called me Tuesday, March 6th even though it said ordering ended February 28th.
I try to do business with the little local guy even though his prices are higher than some of the big box stores. But this long of a wait is ridiculous, and I told him so. I'm glad my intuition told me not to wait on him or I might have been shut out on this non-cataloged deal. |

I didn't get my order in for a 24" upland until 3/5. Luckily, my dealer had already ordered some of the guns. So at least I get a call the day his shipment arrives ... hope there's a 24" upland among 'em, but I can be flexible. |

I've got a 26" Hunter on order too. Does anyone know if you can get hard butt plates for these? |

If I am correct, the 16ga. BPS will come standard with a hard butt plate. At least the pix from the Shot Show I saw of it show a hard butt plate. The gun uses the same wood and receiver as the 20ga. The fact that it has a hard plate instead of a rubber pad was one (of the many) features that made me have to get one! |
