I'd like to buy a 16 ga Model 37 for Valley Quail hunting in California. Ideally, I'd like a plain 26" bbl with IC choking but would consider something tighter and longer.
I prefer older guns with checkering and the "Beaver tail" type forearm. However, I will consider anything that is in excellent shape functionally.
Please send photos, description and asking price:

I just got home from Cabela's (Rogers MN) and there was one there mixed in with the other pumps. I actually did pick it up and looked at it but All I remember about it was that it was a model 37 in 16ga. and had a solid rib barrel a couple of the strait slot screws looked like they had a do it yourself tightening job though. If you call and ask for the gun library I'm sure someone could descibe it better. |

Skeet16,
Thanks for the tip. I called Cabelas in Rogers and he couldn't find the gun and didn't know much about it except it was a 16R and was priced at $680. That seemed pretty high to me so I told him not to look any longer.
I think I'm going to hold out for a Featherlight 26" or 28" non ribbed barrel.
All input is appreciated and I'm pretty sure one will turn up. I'm finding several with 26" barrels to the end of a Polychoke. I think that must have been a popular factory option on the short barreled 16 ga guns.

Hi Folks,...I'm still looking for a 16 ga Mod 37 w/plain barrel. Preference is 26" IC barrel but may have to settle for plain 28" and cut back for tubes.
There are several model 37s that show up with 26" overall with a Polychoke or other adjustable choke. These might shoot fine but I'm determined to have a plain barreled gun and these would cut back to a maximum of 23 1/2 inches. That seems a tad short to me,........
I'm watching the auctions without much luck. Thanks for any help. |
