These posts on the Browning BPS never seem to end There has to be something good about this gun rate it up there with mod. 31's and 37"s. I have to get my hands on one and shoot it to see how it feels beginning to drive me nuts Are not all Browning guns made in Japan nowadays ?? |

Captain: The Browning guns are made in Japan now unless you acquire a used one approximately 4 decades old, or unless you order one from the custom shop. Their 9mm Parabellum automatic pistol may still be made in Herstal; I'm not sure. The Japanese manufacture used to bother me a great deal; I'm not real pleased about it even now. I have an uncle who survived the Bataan Death March and came back a different man, and I will never ever forgive them for that. BUT the Browning guns are well made and have stood the test of time. Their BSS Sidelock, Japanese made, is one of the best side by sides I have ever owned or fired; in a fit of confusion I traded it---sure wish I had it back.
The 16 gauge BPS should fill a present void nicely, particularly for the individual who seeks a single gun with choke tubes to do most of his/her hunting with, capable of shooting steel shot, affordable, and made by a reputable firm in 16 gauge. |

Wolf - thanks for the info. The Jap manuf. and other overseas goods and machinery are a big issue with me. I have always and still do spend a great many dollars each year to avoid thier products coming on my property. I will still give one of these BPS's a look just to see what the Boys are talking about. |

No, the Buckmark pistol has always been and still is made in Utah. |

Wow, lots of interest in a lowly pump gun. Ordered mine couple of months ago. $475 plus tax, say they ship sometime this month. 26" straight grip.
Honestly, I believe I will probably continue to prefer my M37. I have the BPS in 20 ga, and much prefer my M37 in 16, but time will tell. |

That's what they told me when I ordered. Hold on, I'll call them right now.
Now it's June. Browning hasn't received from Japan yet. That's from the Olathe Gun Shop, so take it for what it's worth. |

I can see why there is a lot of interest in the BPS. It might not be exactly what every 16er wants but it represents a start. I see no other big name company making any 16 gauge that would appeal to the masses. At the price of this gun, its affordable for anyone who might be thinking about a 16. I think its a good start even though I'm not crazzy about pump guns. I just can't get the hang of them. Odly enough, I was at gun shop the other night and the sales rep didn't know about Browning making the BPS in 16 ga. I returned with a print of Randy Wakemans review and the page from Brownings web site showing the guns. I hope it is a big enough success to get it to be a catalog item. I'm still hoping for the Benelli M2 in 16 ga although I will probably never see it in my lifetime. |

Hi all, this is my first post, I have been lurking for some time. I have just ordered two of the 16 gauge BPSs, one for my wife, who has been shooting my old noble 16 pump, and one for me, to go with my old FN browning A5 16. My dearler called browning and said they would be shipped in October or November. Thanks for a great site, I really enjoy it. |
