Thought someone here might be interested. this was posted on the SASS wire, The guy's e-mail is rmroz@att.net <rmroz@att.net>
This an old FN (Browning) A5 16 gauge with all matching S/N 287xx. Receiver is marked FN. Barrel is unribbed 28" with a raised bead and is marked "Browning Arms Company Ogden Utah" with US and metric markings. The barrel is marked in both metric gauge as 16.7 with 65mm chamber and 16 gauge Modified. The chamber is 2 9/16".
The shotgun also has original factory sling loops on the mag cap and buttstock. The barrel blueing (about 50%) is splotchy; the receiver blueing is more consistent (about 70%). The larger screws are all numbered (last 2 digits of S/N) and all are still very clean and shiny. The tang screw has a 71xx number on it.
Stocks are also properly numbered to the gun; the buttstock is checkered and is good to excellent with usual dings. The butt plate is the original old style horn with the FN symbol and appears perfect for it’s age . The forestock had several small splits but was acraglassed and reinforced with fiberglass. It looks very good. A like-new replacement, uncheckered forestock will be included. New springs and rings from Midwest Gun Works were recently installed and the old springs will also be included in this sale.
Two experts have indicated it was made in 1923, the first year that FN Belgian 16's came to the US after expiration of the Remington license. FN guns were not made for sale to the US, but those made between 1904 and 1923 are real Auto-5's. The barrel address of Ogden, Utah indicates that this shotgun was sold through Browning and is, most likely, one of the first 2000 or so Browning Auto-5's.
I do have pictures.
NEW: $350 shipped/insured to your FFL or C&R.

Sent you a PM, I'll take this gun, if it's still available.
Could you e-mail the pics?
Thanks, Dave Miles
