My upland bird hunting vests are blaze orange. Early season has a lot of mesh and is a Herters. Cooler weather vest is a Columbia, both work well. |

I have two Filson strap vests; one shelter cloth and one tin cloth, I don't think anything could wear out the tin cloth version. |

While on vacation I found a replacement for my beloved and very well-worn Remington tan mesh vest at a Mom & Pop sporting goods store in Mitchell, SD---brand-new and my size for $44....... |

I have a Carhartt. Believe I ordered it through Cabelas years ago. It has been the only vest to survive multiple hunting seasons. Carhartt makes true working clothes and they have applied the same approach to their vest. Features include front loading, lace stitch corners, lined game pouch, zip down game pouch top for cleaning, separate hand pockets, cargo shell pockets with 6 loop shell holders in each pocket. Really tough vest. |

My "vest" is what's left of the next to the last of my issued jungle fatigue shirts with the sleeves cut off.. the "game bag" is the canvas cover from a satchel charge....
Both OD in color, total cost in $$ exactly zero, memories to go with them interesting....& wouldn't trade for all the world (memories or equipment).
Maybe one of these days i'll buy a real vest and so on, but not yet......

My my book, the Quilomene's are hard to beat. With the built-in camelback water carrier, they are a hunt saver for early season warm temps. or dogs that are a little prone to overheating. |
