I have an older Ithaca model 37 16 gauge. I got it in the early 70's (It's probably a 1950-1960's mfg) when I was a kid for 60.00 dollars. It hasn't been used in many many years and is in fine working condition. The only thing I was never fond of was the Poly-Choke on the barrel. Anyone have an idea or two where I could look for a barrel for a 37 of this vintage?

Ithaca went out of business again so you can't get them from the factory. Try Gunbroker, GunsAmerica or Auction Arms. The barrels aren't cheap and for the price you may find a smith to remove the polychoke and put in choke tubes.

Try the auction site, it took me three years to finally get one so I can rechoke to skeet for upland and dove.
The barrel will need to have the headspace checked and possibly refitted to the reciever. Mine will ahve this done during january when the smith has more time.

try using the poly-choke! they were the ideal device before inter-changeable choke tubes. you can dial any choke you want in less time than it takes to change tubes or barrels. you may have to clean the poly up and lube it to make it work propperly, but my father and grand father both thought very highly of them in the fifties.

If you cannot find a barrel to your liking (or price), why not bring it to a competent gunsmith and have him (or her) remove the polychoke and tap the barrel for choke tubes?
I don't know what it would cost, but it is an option.
