Well guys, an adorable little lady from northern Spain has caught my eye, so I must say goodbye to this Merkel.
This is the 2 barrel set, both 28". Weight with 16 bbl is 6.26 lbs, with the 20s is 6.43.
Both sets marked IC/Mod. The 16 chokes are .005 and .016. The 20s are .007 and .015. Both sets have raised checkered ribs. Custom special order with pistol grip and double triggers.
Less than a year old, she is 99%. I can't call her new in box since I fired one round of skeet with the 20ga tubes, but she is in perfect condition.
Current retail is $7195 with about an 8 month wait. The best deal I could find on this model last year was $5550 from Rick Stokes in Ohio. Deal includes the aluminum Americase which was an extra $350.
First $4950 plus shipping takes it.
Thanks,
Pete
PS Revdoc should be adding pics shortly.
Forgot the stock dimensions- 14 3/8 x 1 1/2 x 2 1/2 with 3/8 cast. |

Where were you with this deal a year ago.
Good price on a great gun.
Good luck with the sale. |

Tjc, the only problem is the pistol grip, or I'd just send a check, cause we all know the merkel is a "lazer guided , pheasent kinlling machine" that even you would be able o harvest a bird or 2 with |

I'd like to see a 16/28 combo. I haven't felt the need for a 20 since I first went to a 16. However, the 28 is another kettle of fish in my opinion. It just does things for me no other gauge does quite as well--although with 3/4 ounce reloads, a 16 comes awful close there too. |

personally, I'm digging the POW grip, the 20 bbls would see limited service but then - what else would you expect...
16/28: I must concur - if you're gonna be a bear, be a big effing bear.
best of luck with the sale, jealous it's not me buying. |

Hey, that grip style is why I had to wait for mine to get here from Germany with double triggers. They don't import the double trigger/pistol grip except for special orders.
I like the grip and the 2 triggers.
Just don't need another 16ga. Merkel, even if they are laser guided, bird seeking, feather covered object destroyers, pheasant killing machines. 2 are enough. |

TJ,
You need to get rid of one of those other Merks and buy this one. That way you can shoot the 20 ga tubes when you can't find 16 ammo!!
BTW, I might be in Bergen Co the end of this month. I could bring it along and save you the shipping/transfer.

Nice, nice gun Pete. I am very tempted, although I am being pulled in about 10 different directions right now, along with house hunting (which is why I haven't been on here as much, along with it being summer).
You still need to make that trip to MS you keep talking about...

Brad,
Say you want this gun and I'll deliver it.
And pick up it's replacement at the same time!

Ahh, you are killing me Pete.
Seriously though, I'm in the middle of negotiations for a house right now and if I can bring my closing costs down, I will have enough for the Merkel. I would definitely like to try that pistol/DT combination. It is on the Ithaca/SKB Model 100 20ga that I have and I do shoot it really well.
Hmm... temptations. |

4square,
I wish I could. Can't sell the new one with the Brileys in it and the other is still at Wenigs getting $1900 worth of wood put on it. Can't sell that one for anywhere near what I'll have into it. If I could I'd sell it and a couple of other pieces I have that I don't use to pick yours up.
I guess it's not meant to be.
Good luck on the sale and here's a bump. |
