Saw this at a local shop today:
16 ga. Remington model 31 pump.
28 inch plain barrel marked "full".
Serial number matched on barrel and receiver.
Bluing and wood were both excellent and appeared all original.
Forend and stock had nice sharp checkering.
Action was greasy smooth with nice light trigger.
Price was 325.00 (I'm 99% sure of my memory on the price).

Although I love my model 12 and don't need another 16 pump, I was really, really tempted due to the condition of this specimen. You don't see many of these with the checkering and I've never seen one in this condition before.
I'd like to see someone here who appreciates the 16 ga. classics to latch on to this if it's something you might be after. If I didn't already have a pump gun and my slightly higher affection for model 12's, I'd snap this up and gladly have the choke reamed or tubes installed. It was that nice.
I have no financial interest here or connection to the seller, just passing it along. I have observed that the folks that run this small, family run shop are real nice and above all, honest and congenial. I've never heard a bad word about them. I've only purchased just a few small accessories there so far, but personnally, I would not hesitate to deal with them.
