6lbs 10oz.....Not really. Might be dense wood, but could be a 16 in a 12 gauge frame/barrels also. The 12 ga/26" current production Silverhawk lists as 6lbs 8 oz and the Ugartechea 16 ga 26" lists at 6lbs 8 oz without screw-ins so that 2 oz could easily be dense wood on an older gun. 2oz isn't going to make that much difference
Sure don't see many sxs berettas in 16 |

I have a few Beretta 16ga SxSs' and I find the weight acceptable. The prices on Beretta 16ga SxSs are nuts. They are now asking over two times the blue book. The last 16ga I purchased for $900 on GunBroker. The one before that was double triggered and even with the bores cleaned up by Mike Orlen the price was $1500. I guess what I am saying is this one is way over priced. I don't think I would jump on it at this price. Then again, I already have mine.
Best,
Ron |

Plus, you don't want one with a pistol grip, either! |

In my opinion there are better deals to be had without looking too hard. For that money I would be looking for a british boxlock.

To tell you the whole story that is what kept me from getting it in the first place. While I shoot either style equally well, I prefer the English for looks and feel in the field.
Still, a Beretta in 16 ga.........maybe Ron will let me adopt one of the ones he got so cheap |

It has taken a while (25 years) to rescue my small collection of Beretta SxSs. Just keep looking and you will find either more resonable pricing or a better equipped 16ga. for the money. On the other hand since I don't have anyone to pass them on to, you may see a flood of them in the future. I just hope it is the distant future.
Best,
Ron |

And I do too. I hope they all fall apart from your use so that those who sell them have to sell them as wall hangers!
I am like you, I have a "few" myself and just patiently keep looking. I will find what I want eventually. I need to let a few go that don't currently meet my needs or I just don't really want anymore, but not enough to move them yet.
Thanks for your input, it helped me withstand my "baser" urges! |

Pigs Eye.
That's the only way I'll shoot them. Ask my Merkels. I could have had them in straight grip and waited 7 months instead to get the pistol grip. |

When you shoot 400 pheasants a year *cough*....TJ....*cough*, I can see where having the pistol grip could ease the strain!

It's only a hair over 300 but I just can't shoot those straight stocked guns with any comfort. |

Hard crowd. I mean just because he is a heathen and likes a pistol grip......
