It seems alot of 16 gauge society members also own NAVHDA breeds. It makes perfect sense a lite versitile gun and a smart versitile dog. Lets post some photo's and short facts about everybody's versitile dog. I would start but my name gives it away and I don't know how to post photo's on this site. We might have to start our own dog training and testing group. The 16 Gauge Society North American Versitile Hunting Dog and Shooting club. We could call it the 16GSNAVHDSC. Hello. |

I'm not sure what NA. . . stands for, but my little dogs are very versatile. Boykin Spaniels. Great little hunters. |

I came up with a new name its LETHAL. NAVHDA stands for North American Versitile Hunting Dog Association it is the group that most Continental Versitile pointing breeds fall into. I've always liked those Boykins. |

Greta,
7 1/2 years, 54 lbs, and about as versatile as a dog can be -- family pet, object of cuddling for the kids, and grouse, woodcock, and rooster finder.
Oh yeah, and I shot the rooster she was holding in the picture above with a 16ga Feather firing a Kent Ultimate Upland 1oz #6. |

Fritz, the german wirehaired pointer is my variety. He was a rescue dog at about the age of 8 months. Wish I knew the history behind him . Someone spent a ton of time on him because he was pretty well trained when I picked him up. He is now 2 and has a motor that will not quit. he is pretty much a lap dog if you let him, but when the gun comes out he wants no part of being a companion especially to the pheasant, grouse and woodcock.

French Brittany tri-colored bitch. Unfortunately, there's few roosters to find in good old L.V. However, she usually puts up a few blue grouse when we hike her around our cabin in CO.

my breed of choice for the last 15yrs has been Large Munsterlander Pointers, but have hunted over good GSP, GWP, Viszla and a Griffon.
I don't know how to post pic's here, however, two of my hunting companions are on the photo gallery of the Large Munsterlander Club of North America if anyone cares to visit.
Snowy Oaks Vulcan and Hickory Hollows Brigitta- they always make me proud to hunt with- they often can't say the same about my shooting though.
cheers,
kevin |

Here I am with my 5.5 year old GWP "Jazz" and some Wisconsin grouse a couple Saturdays ago on the opener.
This is my 7 month old DD "Gus." I've had him into about 9 or 10 grouse contacts so far. He'll get it!

Here's Jazz and my dear old GWP "Zeke" who I just put down last month. That's a hard earned Minnesota rooster and a 1933 16 gauge Rem 11.
Here's Zeke and Jazz with a couple more wild Minnesota pheasants. That's a 16 gauge Merkel 200E I onced owned.

The only thing she doesn't like to be called is "late for breakfast"!
