Thought I should relate the outcome. I took the refund and put it toward a really nice 6wt to replace it. Then I wrote letters to Jim and Dick Cabela telling them what I thought. Long story short I got a call from an executive assistant apologizing for the delay in response and offering a replacement rod (which is what I wanted in the first place). They don't make my rod anymore so they offered a 5wt; told them I'd already replaced the 6wt and already have a beautiful 5wt. So I send 'em back the refund and I'll get a new SLi- 9' 7wt replacement.

So I'm OK with the outcome, but if they'd done this in the first place it would have saved all of us a lot of hassle and me some money! However, I wouldn't have gotten that sweet 6wt; thank God for understanding wives Very Happy !

THE END.

Fin - congrats - sometimes persistance pays off.

Drew - you are right on that one. The BOSS definitely got the worst end of the deal in this household. By the way she's in Tucson today through Monday at the mom-in-laws.
