Badens post on vintage clothing got me looking at how I dress when I head out. Not exactly the same vintage, but old time for sure.

If you'll notice my old SXS has a new sling ala Orvis. I always hated seeing sling swivels on a nice gun, but ofter wished I could sling my gun over my shoulder from time to time. So Orvis (and I'm sure others) makes a neat slip on sling. You can attach it so that carry mode is barrels up or down, whatever you're comfortable with. I also found I could sling it sideways across my back when riding the 4 wheeler up to the forest area I hunt. Once I get into the covert, I drop the sling in a pocket and hunt on.

Now I just need a shell bandolier and I'd look like Panch Villa... Shocked

Nice crease on the hat; Montana? Couldn't see the back.

Roper: You look very purposeful there, and well protected even for a guinea fowl hunt in the Namibian thorn. Those slip-on sllings are very nice. I've been particularly impressed with them when limping back to the rig out of a duck marsh in neoprene waders.

No worries Mate, I'm on private land and hunting solo. On public land I look like the Great Pumpkin. Laughing

So Baden, didja get any mud on them boots or blood on the Filson yet? Time's a wasting... Wink
