Just a few pics from a fantastic day Sunday. Quail in the draws as expected, huns in the grassy flats, also as expected, but also huns flushing like grouse in the aspens next to the quail. I love shooting huns, and I'm also really impressed with the new LCS Uggie 16. Light and fast, it did fantastic snap shooting at close range after both quail and huns, and it did great out to about 35 yds. also. Choked ic/m, I have to hold off on going away shots past 35 yds (which I should anyway) because the pattern just gets too thin, but it is the quintessential game gun to be used over pointing dogs. Having said all that, maybe I need to change my login name, at least until I get another Lefever?
My brit on point. A quail busted out of this little bush after the photo was taken.
Snap shooting in the aspens for huns? You bet!

| Thanks Roper. After a pretty dismal start to the season it felt good to finally have a great day. I got to spend it with a good friend from my dog club too, although one of his dogs got a mouthful of porcupine quills. Ouch! You're right about the bobcat. He scampered up this big tree and glared at me with the hate that only cats can muster. |

As it is a Basque/Spanish gun, how about "Tio Ignacio"?
I just had my 27" 16 Medicute (AyA) sidelock from 1941 rust reblued, thin walls screw-ins inserted and a pad added to "stretch the stock out to 14.5".
Barrels arrive from Brileys next week. Picts posted as soon as possible afterwards.
Mark, It looks like you had a great time. Nothing better than a day afield shooting with the pups and a good gun.
I am taking all of next week off to bird hunt. Getting some rain this weekend, should make for some great hunting. |

Very cool Chorizo. Man, a whole week to bird hunt. Very envious. 
Your gun sounds great. I wondered about putting thin walled tubes in my gun so I could put a full choke in the left barrel for those long range huns and pheasants. Let us know how that works out. Post pics!
