I need a recommendation to do a general tune up of my Chas. Smith SxS. Dis-assembly, refinish screw heads, replace fore end screws with original type, I have an original type butt place that needs to be ground to fit, etc. Looking to shoot this gun for another 20 years The metal and wood are good. I am trading a .460WM custom for a 28ga Browning XS skeet special this weekend, so I will have something to shoot clays with during the interim. Any recommendation of a smith knowledgeble in SxS's? I contacted Mike Orlens, but he has limited his practice to barrel work only. Thanks, Bob |

Thanks Rev, I live in Destin so Tallahassee is just a couple of hrs from here. I'll give Bill a call in the morning. I promise not to go over to the dark side(28ga) while the 16 is the shop. Most excellent.
Dave, I had planned to use Mike Orlen and spoke with him today. He said no general gunsmithing as he is just too busy with barrel work.

Rev, I didn't even think about these guys, as I associate them with the barrel making business. They are about 10 min from my work. I'll take the gun with me Friday and stop by on the way home. Many thanks,
Bob |
