Is there anyone hear who has dealt with Thad Scott. He is a dealer with alot of doubles in stock. Any reports of dealings good bad or otherwise would be great. He seems to have some good items in stock. I just have learned over the years to look (ask lots of questions) before you leap(buy).
Thanks,

I'm in the South as is Mr. Scott. Indianola Mississippi as I recall. He's a bit arrogant as far as I'm concerned, being used to dealing with MONEY, but , having said that, I did find him to be fair, to have a wonderful selection, to be willing to talk trades, and to be pretty accomodating as to in-house alaterations on guns he sells. I'd deal with him again. But, as in all gun dealings, Caveat Emptor.

I have bought 9 guns from Thad.

Never once did I think he was used to dealing with people with money. His prices are more fair than many other dealers of fine guns. He will negotiate and he has a no questions asked 3 day inspection period.

I agree ask lots of questions

I'm tempted to say he's a rotten scoundrel, so as to drive business away from him, in case you call him before me the next time he has a "must have" item.

But in truth, I've always been very happy with Mr Scott. Bought 6 or 7 guns from him. He's knowlegdeable, courteous, and just as friendly as the person on the other end of the phone (you).

Now that's not to say that he suffers fools gladly! As with anyone who takes upwards of 200 calls a day, if you ask a really stupid question, expect to be treated like anyone else who wastes his time.

I agree completely about returns. Just email him within 3 days that you're returning something, no questions asked.

Regards

I met him at a gun show in Ft. Smith Ar a few years back, having recognized his name as a frequent gunlist advertiser. He was courteous and had on display many fine guns, 16 doubles among them, which were way above the quality that I expect the good patrons of Ft. Smith were used to. I have a friend who has bought many guns from him over the years and always had a good experience. He is very knowledgeable about good quality doubles.
