Beth went along and got some pics. I realize closer is better but the big view captures the short grass prairie, and a joyous setter stretching his legs out Very Happy
She also got a nice video of Dirk, but caught me talking baby talk to the dog so I explained the digital record will need to be permanently deleted Rolling Eyes

Santa Rita Mountains over my shoulder. Shouldn't have looked so crabby-it was a wonderful Christmas day in Arizona! God bless us every one Wink

Blues in the grassland, but the drought has really hurt them. Mearns in the hills and thick stuff. And a bunch of antelope Cool

Just tell everyone you are practicing and staying current at the Grandpa thing.

No one belives it, but it is what I tell everyone.

Beautiful country. I have got to get down that way and hunt Blues and mearns. They are the only quail I haven't hunted. So little time, so many wonderful places to go to.

I love to hunt Christmas morning (pheasant) and Easter morning (coyotes). Just being out is gift enough. You were certainly blessed that morning.

Revdocdrew;

You are teasing these Quail Hunters. Smile

Most of Southern Arizona, from Tucson South to the Border is some of the best Quail hunting area in the US.

Along the US/Mexico border we have the Mexican masked Bob-White Quail. This would be west and between Nogales, AZ & Tucson.

This time of the year it is a Wild Quail hunters paradise. Wink
