Is it safe to assume that all new shotguns can use steel shot or is it on a gun by basis. When was the changeover made to steel for most manufacturers.

I'm guessing the fixed full/modified choke Galazon RBL 28 gauge is a no-no with steel shot. But, I haven't seen many 28 gauge steel shot selections, zero, to be honest.

Which, is about what a 28 loaded with steel would be useful for-zero.
Best,
Ted

To elaborate on Ted's post...NO full choke guns are ok with steel regardless of when they were made.

It is likely that all guns made in the last decade or so are ok with steel. (exception probably include a few high grade guns light guns)

If in doubt about a specefic gun check with the manufacturer.

If I understand correctly any gun with threaded chokes is ok. Even older guns threaded for chokes. I was told just to keep a good check on the tube to make sure that it slides down easily.
