Over on leverguns.com I posted a question "does anybody use a 16GA ?"
I got quite a responce, lots of the guys love 16s and have quite a few of them. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
The old Browning Auto is quite a favorite. I knew a little old lady that had one stashed away with some nice English doubles in 20G & 28G. The stock had a leather cheek pad nailed onto it which put me off but later I went back to see if she would sell it but she had turned it in to the Police to scrap it!
I'm still mad that I did not buy it when I had the chance! Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

While I never thought about it, perhaps there is a connection, although I always attributed it to my being left handed.

I have 3 shotguns, all 16 ga. A 1903 Parker S x S. A 1923 Mod 12, and a Stevens Mod 77E pump.

I have 5 non .22 rifles. Four of them are leverguns. A Winchester Mod 88 in .308, a Sako Finnwolf also in .308. A Savage 99 in 250-3000 Savage, and a Ruger 96/44 in .44 Mag.

I am a dedicated lefty and am almost 70 thus grew up without left handed bolt action rifles, so levers were the best alternative for me. Of course I started out with a Mod 94 Win!

I reckon there's a certain amount of nostalgia in using a 16GA Shotgun or in using a Lever Action rifle.

Some folks like the latest super dooper magnum with lazer sights and all mod. cons. Other folks like doing things in the time honored way! I know which I prefer. Wink

My two favorite guns are my 16 ga. Winchester Model 12 and my 30-30 Winchester Model 94. Come to think of it, I need to get a picture of the two of them together, that's a classic combination!

Welcome EddieF, I'm new here too! If you could post a photo of your two classic guns that would be great! Very Happy

Nice collection! What model is the top one with the crescent butt plate?

I tried to get the Police to grant me a Licence for a 94 30/30 the "antique Model" I wanted it for foxes but our Nanny State Police said NO, too powerful for foxes! I have a 9422 in .22LR and I'm thinking of exchanging my CZ .22 Hornet for a 9422M.

NICE! I sure like the Model 12 and a Winchester 94 is also a real Classic!

I have just bought a Remington 870 in 28GA. Never seen a 16GA pump over here. But I won't stop looking! Wink
