I'm sure I know the answer to this question but...

Can a minor barrel bulge somehow be fixed? I saw a pre-war grade Sauer yesterday that was beautiful except for a minor bulge in the right barrel just where the choke constriction most likely starts.

Guess I'm hoping beyond hope...

If it's a SxS, I would check to make sure it didn't make the ribs come loose.
If it's a slight bulge, I wouldn't worry about it. A slight bulge, out by the muzzle, isn't a big deal. It's bulges down by the chamber or forcing cone, that you need to worry about. I have a brand new Berreta 686 special, that I bought for $300.00 because the owner was scared to shoot it after he bulged the barrel at the muzzle. My kid has been shooting in for a couple years now, without a problem.

The bulge can near the muzzle can be fixed by a good gunsmith, but as Dave mentioned the ribs are key. If the is cheap enough and of good quality, you might be able to sink some money into and get the thing fixed and still come out a head.
