Does anyone know the story/names/source of the 16Ga.com cover photo? That picture of the one guy sharing his tobacco with the other man while taking a break from chasing grouse has to be one of the neatest shots ever. I always get a good feeling when I first see it. 8mmFan

It is a great picture and it really got my interest in the history of the 16 ga..I had learned alot from reading the board and I just joined the Society a couple of weeks ago.

16ga addressed that, either in a thread or in a PM to me a while back; I forget which. Hopefully he'll weigh in here with the story, 'cause I can't remember Embarassed !

If we ever got enough interest in reproducing a cool old 16 bore type image I designed and printed a re-make of a vintage Gun Calendar for the Parker Organization last summer and as a commercial printer could easily do the same for us here.

Sure doesnt look like Grouse hunters to me , looks like Rabbit hunting for sure .

But it is one of the neatest pictures I have seen your all right it just has something to it cant put a finger on it , perhaps a bygone era ??

Hey the Calender idea is a great one , I would like a couple of them indeed , perhaps you folks could get this done ???

Regards Charles

Bob,
I appreciate the compliment.

That ol' codger Mike Stackhouse has so much color and character in him it made the rest easy.

Thanks again,
Brad

Any chance of getting my hands on one of the calanders. It just hits the spot and would look great in my gun room. Bill

Charles, you might be right. There's certainly a cottontail there. But look at the dog on the left, in the front of the picture. I may be wrong, but over his right shoulder, it looks like there's a grouse wing sticking up. Maybe a sharptail, maybe a hen pheasant (ouch!)? But to my tired old eyes it looks like the wing of a gamebird.... maybe it's just wishful thinking.

I agree there appears to be a wing in that picture; I suspect both birds and rabbits were going to be on the menu by the time these gentelman were done.

I agree, reminds me of bygone days with my grandfather.

A 16ga calendar would be just the ticket. Maybe it could be done with board members photos.

No link, no photo. Something's missing, Mike.
