I was having Breakfast on my back yard Patio area this morning.
We saw the first hatch of Gambrel Quail hatch. Only four in this hatch. Many more to come however.
I have a very low water plate that has a slow drip hose. It is small in depth so the little guys can get a drink. This is only about 10 yards out for the rear patio door.
Last year we had a hatch of 12 that would come every morning.
I will try and get a Pix this year of a large group at the water dish.
Then I will post it on this thread.
Hopefully my next entry will be the Pix's. |

That's cool---they get water and you get to see them spread their wings so to speak Do you still have the sheriff with the tent city and pink undies for the inmates???Mabey they could build up nesting places for the quail |

Glad to hear Az quail hatch is on.
Southern NM quail hatch is not on yet, although the birds have paired up. We have had no rain since dec and this could be messing with the hatch. If this keeps we will not have many birds again this year. |
