working on the final draft that will go to Browning .

Content: Sharptail Grouse and Chucker

This is side 2 of the ROUGH DRAFT

This is what the 16GA. SOCIETY LIMITED EDITION BPS will look like , less the rib and grip.

This shop has over 2000 guns of all sorts on display and dont let them kid you at least that many more in the back.

An interesting project for sure and obviously a lot of work went into it. But I have to ask: Why in the daylights a 24" plain barrel?

If this had a 28" vent rib, or possibly even a 26" vent rib you would probably have my order. I've seen many of the upland specials with the 24" barrels and they look like coach guns that should be cowboy shooting rather than bird hunting.

Glad to see anything come out in 16ga. I am thinking about the BPS Upland in 24" barrel anyway, not sure how I would take to the no rib though.

Bigger and better things to come? I sure hope you are talking Citori Upland Special in 16ga with english stock, 14"LOP and 24" barrels!

I would also like to see Browning come out in 16ga with a Silver! The "Silver Sixteen" 24" 26" 28" invector barrels.

Thanks to whoever that made any of this happen. Need someone in the 16ga corner!!

The shorter ribless barrel accounts for the weight reduction from the 7 lb. range. Sounds like the stock might also be slimmed down a bit. I don't care for the silver frame -- otherwise I'd consider it.

Let's see the 24" barrels will perform as far as loads go, but they will fall short when talking follow through momentum, the look will be that of a coach/cowboy action shooter, as far as feel it will probably be butt heavy due to the short barrels.

How does this add up to two out of three?

I'm just guessing here that the commitee that brought this project about are grouse woods hunters for the most part and not prarie bird / open country pheasant hunters.

I am glad to see this project and I hope it all the success in the world and I do thank those that brought it about, it's just not for me.

Thanks Mr. Charles. Thanks for having the guts to have a plain barreled 16ga made anew. Thanks for having the gumption to have a fixed choke repeating shotgun made anew. Nope, it won't be for everyone, but things like these are what made each gun such a personal selection in days gone by. The best quail/woodcock/grouse 16s were all in the past/older guns until now. The vent ribs, racy grips, and 'swing' feel have dictated most factory options for the last 30 years. I applaud your work with those involved to bring a new 16 in the old school of brush-popping, no non-sense finery to us all. Very Happy Let me check my slush fund. Very Happy

Well done, Charles. Ain't it nice when a plan comes together.

Whether this is our cup of tea or not, I deeply appreciate the time, effort, thought, and just plain old hard work that went into this project. So it begins, indeed.

Best wishes,

Milton
