This should be a very nice upland gun. I appreciate all the efforts you have made to make the 16ga. more available to the average person.

Very nice Charles. Looks beautiful.
Maybe this is just the beginning of a 16 gauge trend. Hmmmm... Are you thinking what I'm thinking?

Hello JrothWA :
It was VERY CLOSE to getting the Ruff Grouse INDEED .
But the birds chosen were to honor the folks that helped to make all of this happen.
The California Quail was to honor the Managing Director of the Society.
The Woodcock was to Honor our very own Woodcock .
The Chucker Partridge was to Honor our very own IFL16 .
The Sharptail Grouse was to Honor Ole Ben .
The Ruff Grouse is coming into play in the future I should think.
Regards Charles |

Well, once again, I'm late to the party. Actually, Charles gave me a much appreciated phone call a couple of weeks ago. I figured it would be best for me to stay mum until he had a chance to announce his project--and what a project it is. Just beautiful. I'm sure everyone will be quite pleased with this very special model.
As far as no rib barrels are concerned, its an easy fix. I can order an extra barrel with rib and chokes if I want. Easy peasy. A problem is a problem only when there is no solution. This group has repeatedly proven that we are intelligent enough to always find a solution. So we do not have any problems. |

I just assumed the no rib barrel was to keep weight down, which is fine by me. Am I correct? |

Mr Hammack thank you very much for your hard work and dedication to the 16 guage. I was hoping someone from the society could help me on the subject of a rib. I am new to bird hunting. I have been reading as much as I can usally on this forum. I thought the purpose of a rib was to dissipate heat from the barrell avoiding any heat mirage usally needed when shooting clays. This appears to be a upland bird shotgun. Why would anybody need or want a rib on it? Are they using it to aim at birds? Or do they like to carry it around for miles when they are hunting? If anybody knows anything on the subject I could sure use some clarification. Thanks. |
