Sorry for my initial comment, but when I see someone joins that day and his first post is accusatory, it tends to rub me the wrong way. Perhaps asking for info is the better way to go instead of throwing insults. Now, if you need data for Low pressure guns then you need a different forum, the low pressure group is different than here, as already stated.

If you need data for 16 ga that can take modern pressures then one of the members has a link on his personal website that lists 100's of loads. And do please realize that he took his personal time and effort to create the spreadsheets. All the data is tested, so should be safe loads. And no money is needed to view his spreadsheets.
If you search the forums there is a ton of info and links to the spreadsheet sites.

Sorry to have upset any of you guys. We will just charge it off to experience. I have bigger fish go fry. Here in Louisiana interest in shooting sports and hunting is declining at an alarming rate. Some other guys and I are trying to address this issue. Two things are apparent immediately
. Large numbers of kids that have no exposure to our sport, most of these from single parent families. One other reason is that club membership and hunting are rapidly becoming a rich man's sport only. We are trying to organize activities that will introduce these kids to shotgun shooting and reloading. Needless to say this is not popular with the far left, but we are seeing a surprising interest from single parents. Anyway, we are pretty busy.

Good luck with your Society endeavors.

You never did tell us what you are looking for, ie low pressure or modern. Cannot help if we do not know what you need. Good to see your out reach program. My small club has a similar program for youth we call "Hotshots". That subject needs all the support we can give as our sports, shooting and hunting depend on the development of new participants.

Good luck to you program.

Smaller frame kids are having trouble with 1 ounce load recoil, one of my members thought there might be data available on some low pressure loads. We could go to smaller gauges but have some really nice 16s that are light bird guns and super quality.

Thanks, we have explored these, but as
You see the pressure is still high we need to get into the low 6000 we think

What we are trying to achieve may not be practical

I started a new thread hopefully to assist
See here
http://www.16ga.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=129470#129470

OK, let me ask
Since the pressure has nothing to do with the recoil,
you are wishing to stay at 6000 psi and under because of the
age of the guns (damascus?)

or

Are you wanting the least recoiling load you can get?

There are some 3/4 ounce loads at about 1150 fps

Thanks
Mike

There is one under 6000 psi , for a 2 1/2" cheditte hull but with the DR- 16 wad it should load just fine in a 2 3/4" hull . You can also use a filler if you have to ( a cheerio ) LOL (skeetex that ones for you ) but they will work .

Cheditte hull , 15.3 gr International , ched 209, dr-16 wad 5700 psi , 1100 fps

should be a nice light load

Although pressure has nothing to do with recoil . Velocity and weight of shot .

There are also some 5/8 loads on the spread sheets

Hope that helps .

Thanks, I really appreciate your help. We realize the weight and velocity relationship reasonably well but felt that lowering pressure would reduce velocity and recoil to an extent. We know that the trade off may not accomplish our goal of greatly reduced recoil. I welcome any ideas.

The main aspect I see that pressure would have regarding recoil would be at the muzzle- and it would have more to do with "report" or blast rather than actual recoil. A lower pressure at the muzzle would result in less muzzle blast, which particularly shooter new to the sport may perceive as recoil.

Thanks, apparently we have been approaching this problem with bad advice.
