Hard drive crashed, truck died, cell phone croaked. Other than that, should be able to make it by 10:00. |

HHH, Postoak,
As it turns out, I am attending a wedding in the Dallas area this weekend and am spending Friday night in Mesquite. I will make every effort to meet you for breakfast.
I seem to have developed an itch in my right index finger. |

mdm1: I will be wearing a white hat, so that you can recognize me.
Wingshooter: Well, when you get there, come on in to the woods course, and we'll be there somewhere.

Trying to mess with me? I thought you miscreants were going to be on the Meadows. |

Howdy Wingshooter,
XVI'er's first post says "We'll shoot the "WOODS COURSE"".
We'll need all the shade we can get tomorrow.
See you there.

Well, here are the few pics I got. A lot are of Brent, just because the lens has a hard time avoiding him. Had to leave early, and did not get to meet a bunch of the new guys. Fun all the same.
The wide angle lens on the new compact camera is very helpful.
Some new faces I did not get to know. Next time.
Hey Tiny, get a shot of my best side.
Did you get it?
Andy: Oooohh- he got it: how could he miss?
Couple of Jim. In the second shot you can see the ejecta. Just ahead of the ejecta you can just make out the tiny orange dot that is the target. Shooting with the compact digital is like shooting with a flintlock.
Safety is always stressed when we are together
A new friendly face: mdm 1
"No Mike, still can't hear you."
Brent giving advice on a bird that gave everybody trouble.
"Hey Mike, I finally figured out how to take the safety off!"
Put down the South African smokes and step away from the lighter.
What choke and load for termites?
Nothin' but the best for our high end guns. Helps too when you need to place concrete after your shoot.

Howdy NT 16'ers,
A good time was had by Hipshot, before, during, and after the shoot. Glad to meet up with the "new" guys as well as the "old" bunch.
mdm, I'm glad that you finally found us. You finished the course with a flourish, aceing that stage.
From the pictures, it looks like I am keeping my head down and my cheek "welded" to the stock. Now to work on the other necessary techniques.
Mark, maybe we'll meet up on the air some day. Be listening for W5COA.
Thanks to all for the good time.

Wow, that is a fantastic pic of Jim and the shot streaking away towards the clay - it looks like the cup strapped a RATO-pack onto its boots!
Although it was hot, I had a great time - thanks to PostOak for the loan of his shotgun (and I'm sure the fact that it was 12ga had a lot to do with me hitting those darned crossing birds which I can usually never hit).
Good times |

Hi Andy,
That RATO pack was 16gr of Unique, and makes plenty of smoke.
I think, however, on that particular shot, 16gr was not enough to catch up with the bird.
What? Someone brought a 12ga? Sacrilege!

Hi all,
Just got back to my computer, it's been a long, but enjoyable weekend.
I had a great time meeting you all, shooting, joking, enjoying the fine shotguns, and just maybe finding a groove there at the end? I'm going to have to get the wife to the pasture with the Do All and see if it stuck.
Thanks again for all the hospitality. Mike, next time tell me to suck in my gut. |
