Beretta doesn't make a 16 ga. gun. Hasn't for many years (back in the 1930s they may have made a few SxSs in 16, don't recall). I doubt their subsidiary Benelli or Franchi would. Demand, world wide, wouldn't support it. Nice idea, but I just don't seem them tooling up for a new action and bore diameter.

My brother's got a 409 from 1957 in 16 gauge. That's what he was shooting at FOD. |

Okay, I was wrong on my dates.
I don't remember seeing the 409. Guess I was too wrapped up shooting the pistols and AR. Russ |

I love my Browning Citoris, my A-5s and my Ithacas, but I take my Benellis hunting and I love them the best, perhaps because they are seemingly indestructable, but most likly because the raised rib perfectly matches my eye when I cradle the stock against my cheek--the only shotgun I've found that fits me from the factory. I would LOVE a Benelli 16 ga semi Super 90 to go with my 12 and 20 gauges, but I agree, it isn't likely to happen. |

Wow is right. Holy smoking tubes Batman...
Look at that discrepency between BB price and actual market value on that gun, good lord. I wonder if Beretta monitors Guns America, AA, or Gun Broker at all to see what their older model guns are selling for. Heck if I saw that at Beretta, I would be seriously thinking about making the 409 in 16ga again.

I'm not a big Benelli fan, but if Remington made a 16 based on their 20 ga 1100, I'd probably buy 2.

I'd buy a 16 gauge Montefeltro in a nanosecond!
I had a 20 gauge Benelli Montefeltro and it was a really good little bird gun. I loved the simple breakdown and cleaning. |

A 16 gage Benelli would be super. Altho I like SxS's and O/U's I must admit that for me the Benelli Montefeltro is one of my favorite shotguns. My Montefeltro is a 12 and handles great. Benelli would probably sell more of these than the marketing guys think but I'm sure it will never happen. |

Busting Clays,
Hold on awhile longer regarding your Beretta wish . You should be hearing about a 391 Sporting in 28 gauge sometime this year with 26", 28" and 30" barrels. A 410 is in the works as well.

I'd love to buy any good 16 gauge auto. I don't care who made it. I do have a Benelli and do like it but I agree, it would have to weigh a little more. |

I think we should spend more time convincing Ruger, Browning,Berreta, all better gunmakers to make 16s. I dont care for Benelli. |

I agree with you Rem, I am not a big Benelli fan either. My dad had a SBEI and I just never really liked it or most of their other guns that much. I would make a big exception for the Montefeltro. As for the SBE, outwardly it fit me OK, but it kicked hard and never really showed me any reason to keep it.
How about a Franchi 16ga Autoloader, like the AL48 or the 9 series? I think that might be a really cool gun for Franchi. |
