For sale:
I recently came into possession of a quantity of these shells in a trade for a gun, and although I've enjoyed reading this board for quite a while now, I still don't own a 16ga and can't afford to hold on to these.
They are CIL Imperial Magnums, probably from the 1970's. They have been stored properly and most of the boxes are in true mint condition. There is no sign whatsoever that they have ever been exposed to moisture. They have plastic hulls and are very heavy loads: 3 1/2 drams of powder and 1 1/4 oz of shot. I don't think there's a current factory-loaded 16 ga. shell with this much powder.
I have 5 boxes of #6's, 8 boxes of #5's,and 28 boxes of #4's.
I realize these shells are not for everyone, but they represent a lifetime supply of turkey and late-season pheasant shells for someone with a stout 16 ga.
It's hard to put a price on these shells - the closest current loading is the Federal Premium magnum load that looks to go for low $20's / box.
I'd rather not have to make too may trips to UPS with these, so if anyone is interested in the whole lot or a significant portion of it, please PM me with an offer. I'll re-post in a few days if no one takes a large quantity and I'm ready to sell small quantities.
