Well it has taken me more time than it should have, but my project is almost done. Charles had told me that he would be glad to walk me through the process of restoring one of these fine guns, so I bought this one. True to his word, Charles has spent a lot of time with me on the phone to be sure I understood all of his tips for this project. I wanted to share with all of you a few "before and after" pictures to show that it really can be done by a do-it-yourselfer in his basement. I have finished the bluing and reassembly, but still have not have time to refinish the wood, but that is something that is more straight-forward.
Also, I have tried to compile all of my conversations with Charles into a single document so that others can read and see what I've done along the way. I will be inserting a couple more pictures into that summary and have it ready to e-mail out in a day or two. If anybody wants it, just give me an e-mail address. With all of that said, here goes:

Thanks for looking, JT |

JT-- I'm interested in what process you used to re-blue the frame. I have rebuilt 6 or 7 of the 90's and the malleable iron of the receiver doesn't seem to hold traditional hot bluing well---oxidizing to purple or brown after a time.
Should you need parts for your 90 I have some, particularly the trigger spacers as many of these guns seem to have significant side-to-side 'play' in the trigger assembly.

Ron, click the email button in my post or PM me your address and I'll send you the information. It is a rust bluing process that I used.

JT,
Thank you sir! Good info and tips, haven't delved into the inner workings of the 90, but one of these days "I'm a gunner get rountuit"
Cheers,
