Has anybody worked up some loads with the Claybuster clone of the old Winchester wad?

Huh? There's no mention of a 16 ga. wad on Claybuster's site, and when I called J-Ron (Claybuster's parent company) about five months ago, they said they had no plans to introduce a 16 ga. wad.
Do you know something I don't?
Regards,
Howard |

Well ole Claybuster is producing a slightly modified WAA16 wad which are available from Graf & Sons. The base of the wad is somewhat larger than the WAA16 to work better in Cheddite and other Reifenhauser hulls but Claybuster says to use the same data as the WAA16. |

Just received 1000 of them today. I have used them to make up a 7/8oz load in the Rem black hulls. Very slight dishing problem, but not enough to bother messing with the crimp adjustment. |

I think the reason your hulls are dishing in, is because the wad is designed for 1 to 1-1/8 oz. loads if I remeber correctly. |

DM,
I know. I'm happy with the 7/8oz results. I was using Rem SP16's and these work better. The dish is really insignificant and I like the savings of using less shot.. |

I got in on the special run of R16 remington wads. I have been using fillers for a 3/4 oz. load but just today cut down a box of once fired Remington hulls to 2 1/2" and the load crimps real nice without fillers.
