I suspect this has been covered elsewhere but I'm curious about Chamber Mates, Guage Mates, etc. in 16 ga Citoris. Does anyone have experience with the 16-20 and 16-28 insertss.

i've used chamber mates 16-20 successfully in a Model 24 Winnchester.

Don't own a Citori, etc (yet)

others have had problems.

seem to be very gun specific

FWIW, i like the 16-20 combination in my gun, seems to work well & i can buy promotional priced 20 ga ammo and save a few $

your experience may vary

hoashooters experience makes good sense if we think about it..

16-20 gage adapter is made from thin, flexible metal, seems to be adaptable to various chambers

the 16-28 & 16-410 would of necessity be thicker, less flexible materials, and therefore more difficult to adapt to different chamber configurations

really just common sense

thank you for posting that reply

See 'chamber inserts' thread in General Discussion section dated 1-4-06. Some discussion of this also in 'barrel strength' thread. You'll probably just need to try them out in your gun.
If the idea is to save some $ shooting the cheap 20g. promotional loads in your 16g., you're likely to be frustrated with the powder residue mess and empties sticking in the inserts. AA's have worked OK for me.

I was thinking of buying a set to keep in my gun case for the day I ran out of 16 ga shells while traveling. Sounds like there's a general consensus that these things aren't what they're cracked up to be, or at least are quite a bit of trouble. Guess I've saved some money .......
