Hello All,
What can anyone tell me about this shotgun.
It has 2 3/4 chambers, and ejectors, and is a honey to shoot
Thanks
Enjoy the day

I don't see the Manufacture Liegeoise d' Armes a Feu 1866-1929 mark
which became Armaf 1929-1972
and usually 'ACM' in a circle is stamped on the barrels for Acier Cockerill Manufacture Liegoise
Top pic/receiver:
spangled u is the inspector's mark; either Hubert Charlier 23'-53' or Jacques Fuchs 60'-68'
perron - inspection mark
What may be the stylized lion over PV post-1968 smokeless proof??
Second pic:
1kg??? is the barrel weight after smokeless proof
The next is the important date of proof letter which I can not interpret (sorry!)
spangled u again
? the older style lion over PV smokeless proof
Banc d'Epreuves des Armes A'Feu de Liege (proof house) stamp
16-70 in an omega = 16g with original 70mm chambers
Third pic:
?16.9 is bore in mm = .665"
?15.8 is choke constriction = .622"
AL is the mark of Arnold Lochet http://www.littlegun.be/arme%20belge/artisans%20identifies%20l/a%20lochet%20famille%20gb.htm
but could also be Acier Liegoise ?
spangled J was the inspection mark of Pierre Neuprez used 30' - 68'
Intertwined EL is the provisional proof mark
The last one may be the maker's mark which could be an 'A' within a stylized 'L' for Arnold Lochet?? It's certainly not the 'ML' mark
Manufacture Liegeoise d'Armes a Feu was a huge outfit similar to Fabrique Nationale and they contracted with lots of makers to provide firearms. I wish I could read the proof letter ! but it looks to be a small case greek letter which would be c. 1950s. IF it's a small case 'x' it would be 1945 but I can't image ML was turning out sporting guns at the end of the war.
I sure can't explain what may be the post-1968 smokeless proof on the receiver. |

Fun to help, but it did take some research.
Maybe you could chalk the 2nd and 3rd segments of the barrel so the marks would stand out. I'm interested in that ? maker's mark, and would sure like to at least identify the proofdate mark.
And thanksgiving blessings to everyone |
