The only 7/8 oz load I have assembled with the DR16 in quantity is the Downrange load listed below.
Win Xprt (Newest Win hulls)
2 3/4
7/8 oz 9's
Intl Clays 16.4 gr.
Rem 209P
DR16
6,200
1150
13.0
I am perfectly content with this load in my Citori Superlight. It's easy on recoil and gets the job done on the Skeet range. I shot a 24 today with them.
I handed my gun to a 15 year old who was shooting a 20 ga. O/U and let him shoot it once and he was amazed at the lack of recoil compared with his 20.
Charles H. and Downrange have made me a very happy camper!!!
Thanks Guys!

Nice work, looks like a keeper! Did you notice any unburned flakes?
Now if I can get something similar with the Federal hull I'll be set for life!
I have tons of almost every 16 gauge hull out there, especially Remington, new Win's, and Federals. At this point it's NOT cost effective for me to invest in the other gauges. My obsessive-compulsive nature has finally paid off! There IS a method to this 16 gauge madness! |

Barrels were very very clean after firing 77 shells. No unburned flakes at all!!! |

Is 13.0 this load's standard deviation or number of reloads until the hull is junk? |

Good question. I think I plugged the downrange data into the Low Pressure Groups Worksheet (my workcopy) and I think the spreadsheet generated this number - Recoil index??? |
