Not sure what you are getting at robt.harris as your post is quite cryptic, but mine is only an opinion nothing more or less.

I simply don't agree that there is anything wrong with the DR16 wad. I hope expressing ones opinion isn't being out lawed on this forum.

Not sure how you were so obviously offended by my post, if I somehow upset you, my sincere apologies.

I tend to agree with shootingsioux. Probably because we're both from Minnesota. Actually he brought up some good points. If you need the DR16 wad to load 3/4oz loads then use it. I have plenty of recipes fpr 3/4oz and 7/8oz that use other wads that are available. Myself I prefer the gualandi wad sold at BPI and others. Using that wad and a 2 1/2" hull you could get down to 5/8oz if wanted.

NO FOLKS ! YOU CANNOT SHOOT SHOOTINGSOUIX OR SPR310 OR SLIDEHAMMER .

We do not need to follow that line of thinking , to each their own and we all must get along on the fourm , this is something that Doug has created for us and entrusted us to take care of , so no more of that kind of talk .

If they don't like the wad then what needs to happen is the following .

1 . the need to sit down and design the wad they want made .

2. Pay a mold designer to design a single cavity mold and a production mold to the tune of $ 5 K +

3 . Find a Mold Builder in their area .

4 . Commision the building of the prototype mold done to the tune of around $ 30-50 K +

5. Test the product at Downrange ( I can arrange for this to happen ) if the prototype meets their specifications then on to the next step .

6. Commision the building of the Production mold , dig deep into the pockets and come up with $ 150-200 K + and hope no changes need take place .

7. Set up a Joint Agreement with Downrange or Claybusters to run and market the wad .

8 . Expect to NEVER RECOVER THE MONEY SPENT .

9. Enjoy your wads !

Folks I designed and built the wad to fit my and Ole Ben's need , fully expecting to NEVER RECOVER THE MONEY SPENT , I done this to provide myself and Ole Ben with the EXACT WAD that we wanted .

If anyone else would like to have some of our wads , then your free to order some for your own use , BUT I BUILT THIS FOR MY AND BEN'S USE in MY FAVORITE BORE SIZE THE 16. GAUGE .

Now I will get back to Bowfishing and getting ready for Canada by loading the DR16 up with the 21 Gram load .

Folks stop jumping on these folks , this is not what this Society is all about let everone do as they may and quit the bickering before Doug has a change of heart about all of us nut's .

To the nice gentelman that started the post I will do my best to answer your questions in person , if you will PM me we will exchange phone numbers and make the connection one of these evenings, it is a very simple adjustment to your machine to make things work out for you .

Best Regards

Charles

Charles Hammack,

I don't think that anyone was ready to shoot shootingsouix, spr310 or slidehammer. However we were on the verge of throwing once fired DR16 wads in their direction. Of course that was going to take some time as they are pretty well covered up with clay target pitch.

Hello All
Great post, yes, GENTLEMEN, each has his or her place in the universe.
Let us try to make it as comfortable as possible.

Plastic is, after all, plastic. Buy it if you wish, do not buy it if you wish. It has no moral value, it is plastic.

I would rather shoot plastic than the brown stuff.

Now, my latest adventure involves a Krieghoff Drilling in 16x16x 8x57IR.
Any one have experience with them?

Rave on Dudes

Unfortunately I don't have a Kreighoff Drilling, however I do have a Hilti, Battery Hammerdrill with a complete set of carbide concrete bits and 2 - 24.0 volt batteries with the charger, but I suppose that doesn't qualify, even though it is a German company and the word drill is in the name......

Sorry skeettx, I got a little off thread there....

Hello huntNnut

You have a very nice tool !!

Sorry huntNnut, I got a little off thread there....

Speaking of tools, you sound like one and I AM a tool nut.
And yes this is the MEC 600/DR Wad post and I LOVE to reload.

I have a number of 600Jrs for small jobs, but REALLY like my Texan M reloaders. Usually I will load 8 or 12 flats of shells before I switch to a different press. One the machines are set, TALLY HO !!

Do y'all do that or load only a few boxes at a time???

Enjoy the day

Mike

Whoa Hoss,

Did you say Texan press? I have seen them at various shows, but was always leery to buy one, because I was worried about parts. I only have seen single stage Texans, did they make progressives?

Before we really do get off thread, do you know of a website that might be of interest and lead me in the right direction?

I have a pile of MECS, both single stage and progressive, and yes I do load a few flats at a time, more like 4 or so, but then everything is bigger in Texas.

BTW, a tool is about the nicest thing anyone has called me in a loooooooooong time. Thanks for the pick-me-up!!! Laughing Laughing Laughing

Hello

The Texan are not made anymore, in fact have not been made for 25 or so years.

You may be learning that I am EXCESSIVE COMPULSIVE !!

I have 12 of these Texan progressives Shocked

The one in the picture is for 16 gauge Very Happy

I think that the MEC single stage collet sizer presses are wonderful, and better than the dated single stage Texans.

But I REALLY like my Texan M presses

Enjoy the day
Mike

When it comes to reloading I never knew there was anything excessive about it. Nice looking press, that is the first progressive Texan I have seen.

Thanks for the picture.

Off thread again, where did you get the Bethlehem steel banner? That is good distance from your neck of the woods.

Hello
Got is a long time ago. As I spent a LONG time in the Air Force, been many places. I do not remembe when I got it.
This flag is a long load warning flag, and I now use it to cover the Sioux grinder next to the Atlas 6" Lathe.

Off thread-

Hilti- is from Liechtenstein not Germany. I think this is the first thing I've ever known coming from Liechtenstein.

http://www.hilti.com/data/editorials/-12317/milestones_2005_en.pdf

I had a friend who worked in the tool plant for them in Tulsa, OK.

Just a curious factoid.
