The wad has been on the market for sometime now and yet there is very little information on its use.
I am beginning to think there must be a problem with this wad.
Does anyone know about this?

Pete

Why do you think something is wrong with the wad?
Lots of people are using it.
What kind of information are you looking for?
Maybe you need to run some loads for yourself and get them tested?

So far the only thing I have found wrong with the wad is that I only ordered 3000 the first time, and wish I had more. I find the DR-16 wad to fill the void of 7/8 oz or lighter loads that many of us shoot much more often at targets. Now all we need is a good quality, reloadable hulls to match the Remington STS, and the 16 ga will be on an equal standing with the other gauges - which means others will finally see how useful it is!

Nothing is wrong with the DR wad, shot a couple of straights at skeet so far
and placed well in sporting clays up against some 12 ga shooters.

here is a link to some data
http://www.mynssa.com/ssr/ssr200906/Ceretto.pdf

the one I'm shooting in my o frame 16 ga is :

Cheddite hull 2 3/4 "
Win 209 primer
IMR PB 18.3 gr. the receipe calls for 18.7gr
DR 16 wad
7/8 oz lead
1,200 fps @ 6,800 psi

Where did you get this load data from? and is it a tested load?
Or is the Winchester X-pert hull, supposed to be the same as Cheddite?
Thanks, Dave

Dave,
I was told by two people whom I belive would know , that X-pert Win and Cheddites are the same,
BUT , wanting to have further proof before I invested in the powder
I dissected one and they look to be identical.

That load data is from Hodgdon's and they are using the X-pert moniker (verified by a call to their customer service line by myself) to mean the currently loaded factory shells (ie. Cheddite).

Wooodcock Hunter,
I would have never known that was you.
I have had too many beers tonight, for a proper response.
I'll get back with you later. Wink
