For something like this check into www.bluebookinc.com It will be a good investment for what that shotgun is worth assuming it is a genuine WR.A real WR NEVER has the first name abbreviated and the London address is usually found on the rib panel The Belgian copies are usually hammer guns with damascus barrels worth a few hundred dollars. |

I'm new to this site - been lurking for a while and seeing your post just had to reply. I have a 1927 sxs Westley Richards 16 ga that has been my upland game companion for about 25 years. I'm no expert but am happy to share the info I've found when digging around on WR for myself. On the WR website www.westleyrichards.com you can enter your serial number and it will date your gun - should be a quick and rough way of checking authenticity. Also note that they are a Birmingham firm although they had a London outlet in Bond St for many years. |

Thanks for the welcome Hoashooter - I could listen to you guys talk about birds and dogs all day long - but I really don't know American classic doubles. I was brought up on English and European doubles and have never even handled a Parker of Elsie - heck I hope that doesn't get me thrown off the list |
