I have a bunch of these hulls now. Also got some CB AA16 clone wads. Have been loading 1oz with HS-6 powder. I'd like to drop to 7/8oz for target loads. I want to keep velocities around 1200fps. Low pressure is not a requirement. Any suggestions?
THANKS! |

I had a load tested 3 years ago which I have loaded and shot a bunch.
The recipe is, WWCF case, 16gr. Green Dot, CCI209 primer, Rem. R16 wad with 1 .125" 28ga card wad filler, 7/8oz lead shot. The velocity is 1195 FPS and the pressure is 8600 PSI.
I do not know how the CB wads compare to the R16. The original Win AA16 wad usually generated more pressure than the R16. |

I contacted the seller of the once fired shells from the above link and they have a slight rib to the hull and a fiber base wad. Unfortunately, not the CF hulls. |

jtw is right, they appear to be the old Super Speed poly formed hull which has a very tall cardboard/paper base wad which only works with fiber and card wads. Possibly the worst 16ga hull ever made. Winchester/Western was scraping the bottom of the gutter when they were selling these. |
